• Next week sees Manoj Ranaweera’s Northern Startup Business event, with talks from Liverpool Ventures, Smith & Smith PR and Ridgetown…unlike last month’s Mobile 2.0 event, this doesn’t seem to have as clear a narrative…

• Don’t forget April’s GeekUp Leeds, back at The Lounge after a couple month’s away at OBH and The Living Room…

• Game Republic‘s Student Showcase will be taking place at the National Media Museum on 15th April, along with an evening talk – ‘A License to Kill: Licensing in video games’.

• The ubiquitous Dom Hodgson is holding a Mario Kart Wii Launch Party (awesome idea!) at Old Broadcasting House in Leeds…with of course plenty of Wiis to share the fun 🙂

• On the first of May, Old Broadcasting House will be hosting the rescheduled An Evening With…Clive Grinyer – I  can’t wait!

• Early May also sees the <yawn> Yorkshire Digital Awards </yawn>…needless to say, the vibrant grassroots communities of Leeds and  Sheffield will be ignored in favour of old media dinosaurs and telcos.

• The North East continues to shine with the inaugural Games Horizon Conference 08 in mid-June and BarCamp NorthEast scheduled for the last weekend in May.

• Registration has opened for b.TWEEN08, also in mid-June.

• Sensoria, Sheffield’s week-long festival of film and music, Sensoria, is coming up in mid-April.
